Almost Forever

I said I would explain and here I am telling you my story about why I am single although I had basically found "Mr. Forever"...turns out he was "Mr. Forever, But Not Right Now And Not With You"

I met Phillip our senior year of high school. He asked me to Prom and I accepted although neither of us knew each other. We became really good friends and from there we both began this weird sort of "we liked each other but weren't doing anything about it" kind of relationship. It all sort of reached its peak for us at this YSA New Year's Eve dance that a group of us went to...somehow he got the impression that he was going to spend the rest of forever with me. I had already shared with him how I felt (which was madly in lvoe with him) and I was surprised when he actually returned the sentiment. Everyone around us could see we were in LOVE and were headed towards the eternities. HE even started asking me about wedding plans and HE was the one who started the marriage talk first! I was okay with it because I had prayed about it dozens of times and I knew it was right so we started working on a wedding scrapbook together working out every little detail that we could and we even discussed children's names! That was the happiest time of my life and when he proposed it was even better!
He took me to our favorite hang out spot in this canyon area outside of our town and we were sitting looking at the stars as usual and discussing Heavenly Father's plan for us. He looked at me and said " Nikki I can't imagine life with anyone but you." He pulled out this little box and got down on his knee and said "I guess you know what I am going to ask next...will you marry me?"
...Let me tell you the making out was intense...although I had already known what he was going to do because his friend Tony had accidently spilled the beans when my friend Becky threatened him with death if he didn't tell. That girl is amazing! Anyways We continued planning and preparing and I began preparations to get my temple recommend. I had to move to help my grandmother who was sick, but everything was still going strong...until one day Phillip TEXTED me and told me that he just didn't love me anymore and that he always had doubts about us! OUT OF THE BLUE AND OVER TEXT! What a douchebag!

Everyone was completely shocked. Mainly me, but everyone else was taken by surprise as well. I gave him the ring back, but I kept the wedding scrapbook...I mean honestly I put hard work into that book and I am not giving it up for ANYTHING. Tony was unbelievably pissed because he had picked out the ring and everything with Phillip and he just couldn't believe that Phillip would do that to me. Needless to say Tony and Phillip did not end on good terms...they broke out into a huge fight just a few hours before Tony was getting set apart as a missionary!!! (Tony and Phillip are older than me by a year..I skipped a grade) Phillip isn't going on his mission, just merely because he "feels" he isn't meant for one...whatever. Back to why they were fighting...well see Phillip brought this girl Alexis to Tony's farewell party, but Phillip was flirting with me and Tony got really mad at Phillip and...attacked him is the only way to put it really. Becky and I got good laughs out of it and so did everyone else there except for Alexis who had the BALLS to say I started the fight.

Apparently Tony and Alexis have been going out for sometime and he thought he would be able to just bring her into the fold...all I have to say is Hell to the NO!

So that is my story people, sorry it was a long one but I had to tell the whole thing because I rather think it is a good story and also it is what has spurred me to go out and figure out what REAL love is. OH and BTW this happened in July....Epic huh?
